Program Description

After a disaster or emergency, communities may use USDA Foods to provide prepared meals to impacted people. These meals use existing state inventories of USDA Foods intended for other food assistance programs. The program then serves the meals in a central location, such as a designated disaster shelter.

General Program Requirements

There are no program requirements to receive meals.

Application Process

There is no application process.

If you need food assistance, you must first find out if there is a congregate feeding program in your area. If available, local media and press will likely advertise the program
